Vintage ‘soda shoppe’ set to open in downtown Hartford’s Pratt Street Historic District
A soda bar featuring old-fashioned floats, sweets and milkshakes is expected to open this summer in downtown Hartford.
Emrey’s Specialty Sweets & Sodas is a vintage candy shop modeled after the “soda shops” of the mid-20th century.
Owner Melissa Melonson plans to open the business at 196 Trumbull St., in a space previously occupied by FedEx before sitting vacant for years.
“Emrey’s” is a combination of the names of Melonson’s daughters, Emmi, 4, and Aubrey, 11.
The menu will feature flavored soda floats and milkshakes, including a cold-pressed watermelon soda float, a banana foster’s “extreme milkshake” and a blueberry cream
Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoes bill banning speed cameras in Arizona
Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed several bills Friday, including one that would have banned municipalities or state agencies from using speed or red-light cameras.

In a statement released moments after word of Hobbs’ veto, Rogers — who did not return a message seeking comment — said that the camera-enforcement systems “do little” to prevent collisions or bad driving, collect
SLR vs RF – Johnny Martyr Thought & Photography
by Johnny Martir

Before I go any further, I just want to note that the featured image was taken with my Leica M6 TTL 0.85, Voigtlander 40mm 1.4 and Kodak

Gan.Ai Offers Scalable Personalization of Video Media Using Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is all the rage these days and for good reason.

The Importance of Lighting for Brand Photographers
Why is that Lightning seems to really scare us photographers?
I am 100% guilty of this- I used to call myself a natural light photographer because it gave me permission to ignore the need to learn off-camera flash (OCF), but eventually, it caught up with me. I’m still trying to get my finger right Why it freaks me out, though- I think I’m intimidated by the possibility of adding elements math and science to an art form. Having mastered natural light for quite a while, thoughts on adding another light source? No, thank you.
