Avid readers of this blog know that I do occasional photo shoots like portrait sessions, occasional weddings or fashion shoots. This time Big Girl asked me to do a BFF photoshoot for her and her best friend. They asked for an outdoor setting with a different backdrop, so I took the girls to Dillberg, a small mountain southeast of Nuremberg where we had fun during the golden hour. Check out some photos from the BFF session after the jump…
The light on that summer night was very beautiful, and the two girls were perfect models. What is always important during a portrait session is having fun, and the fun we are sure to have.
I was hoping to get my disabled Leica back from repair in time for the session, but it ended up arriving half a week late. So I shot with my trusted Olympus OM-D E-M1X and the mZuiko 12-100 F/4 pro zoom, a proven combo that I also use at wedding shows and it’s very versatile.
I don’t like fiddling with different bodies and lenses during a photo session, because I find it breaks the flow. So a maximum of two bodies, one with a versatile high-quality zoom, and one with a 50mm fast prime. Knowing what this camera lens combo can do, and being able to operate it practically with my eyes closed, I was able to fully focus on the shooting itself.
And the girls are so happy with the pictures they got from the BFF’s shoot.
RAW conversion and post-processing in Lightroom Classic.
Have a nice Sunday
