Taika Waititi and Rita Ora’s love is written in ink.
The “Jojo Rabbit” director and the British pop star recently confirmed they got married last year — and now, Waititi’s revealed a permanent tribute to his wife.
The 47-year-old filmmaker posted a close-up photo of a new tattoo inked by celebrity artist Winterstone — the letter “R” in a Gothic font on the top of his hand — on Instagram Wednesday, joking in his caption, “I love Rugby.”
Friends and fans flocked to the comment section, with Kate Beckinsale writing, “Awwwww❤️❤️❤️” and Diplo joking, “It’s a great game.”
Fans also pointed out that the initial could serve a greater purpose, writing, “Not me thinking it was to specify your right hand” and, “do you have L on the left hand.”
Others joked that the “R” could stand for Waititi’s BFF Rhys Darby, Rihanna, Ragnarok, rhubarb or something (or someone) else entirely. Some suggested that Ora ink a “T” in order to proclaim her love of tennis as well.
It’s unclear whether Ora plans to return the favor by inking a tribute to her husband, but she did give a nod to their relationship at her recent single release party with her manicure, showing off black nails with a gothic “T” and “R” on each hand.
And while she sported a ton of silver jewelry with her barely-there feather boa look for the event — which celebrated her wedding-themed song “You Only Love Me” — the “Masked Singer UK” judge recently revealed her emerald engagement ring from Waititi , which experts tell Page Six Style could be worth $500,000.
