Week after week, we proclaim that “photography has the power to brighten our everyday lives,”; and what a way to kick off our frantic routine of diving into some beautiful pictures in the comfort of our chairs!
Here’s our weekly roundup – you’ll find well-curated photos of general chats mixed with some creative shots of the 642nd Tersha challenge Drawing Painting with Light! And as you may have guessed by now, some photos worth looking at from the Feedback Forum too!
Photo of the Week – May 15, 2023
Words by Jasenka Grujin
This time POTW went to @liveyourlife83 and shots of her creative light paintings.
I really like the composition here and how unusual this shot is. The light is a bit rainy here, which is a brilliant idea!
Congratulations, Kristi.
What Do Our Members Do?
Pour yourself some coffee or tea and enjoy our selection of light pictures for the week!
This must be one of the coolest selfies we’ve ever seen published online!
In one single frame, we combine our most famous light sources, natural and artificial, of course!
By the way, we often associate light painting with artificial lighting of course. But technically, it can also be achieved by using available light at our own creative whim. This is an experiment (100.2.5s, ƒ/9.300mm) where Wen shines a strong beam of sunlight to focus on the birds. Then he edited in LR and shot a ray of light in PicMonkey. Here’s the result!
What an interesting pair of glass!
Robert found Mater’s cousin out in the cold in Montana!
Tersha sharing some excited bleeding hearts he tripped over on:
About this shot, Elin sharing a very interesting story involving Canon; read more about it Here!
He also missed a light painting challenge because of the midnight sun! But managed to share shots of Grebe’s lovemaking instead; hopefully, it will produce lots of happy chicks in a few weeks.
Beth have fun with his Link and Wade figurines!
Mobile Monday Challenge is open to share some photos! And if you want to see more shots, check them out Member Choicewhere our community share their favorite photos from us forum every week.
We Want To Hear Your Opinion
Also, us Feedback Forums got some great pictures, and it it’s clear that some of you have started to build a solid photography style. This is the perfect place for everyone who wants to thrive as a photographer.
Here, your work will be criticized by many well-meaning people, but you will also have the opportunity to criticize your colleagues. We truly believe in the power of criticism and feedback. Here are some of the most interesting shots shared over the past week:
Shark Tank is a great place to learn and discuss it, so please read the instructions for a better critique experience. Share your comments, opinions and doubts on any or all of the images above. We would also love to see some pictures of your own. Do not be shy; critics given to the photo and not the photographer.
Also, don’t forget to participate in our 643rd challenge!
