Across the Line – Stuck in Customs

Photo of the Day – Across the Line

I found this man in Batu Caves outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Batu Caves is a large cave that houses various Hindu shrines and lots of fruit for the monkeys. This was shot after wandering a quarter mile through the cave and emerging from a geological oddity – a beam of sunlight shining downward through an open space that has been carved through the limestone after centuries of rainfall.

It was a bright and sunny day, and the monkey sat alone in front of the pitch-dark cave entrance. This was shot as one RAW photo. It only has a few HDR adjustments, to get the texture on the wall and the details of the fur.
